It is worth noting this ability is already available through the Phone Link app (previously Your Phone), but Microsoft is now adding it directly into the apps. To take an image from Android on Word or PowerPoint, head to Insert in the ribbon and then Pictures > Mobile Device. You will need to link your Android device to your PC before the feature will work. Once the phone is connected, you can search through your smartphone photos library directly in Word and PowerPoint. It is then possible to select images and embed them into your document or presentation. Microsoft says the feature is getting “released over some time to ensure things are working smoothly.”
Recent Phone Link Update
It is worth remembering this is a Phone Link feature that is coming to other apps. Microsoft recently rolled out a new update for Phone Link, adding a new Instant Hotspot ability. At its core, the feature allows a Windows 11 PC to access the hotspot of a mobile phone through Phone Link. This means connecting to the Wi-Fi/4G/5G of a phone will be more seamless. For example, users will be able to avoid using a password when a phone is paired with Phone Link. “The instant hotspot feature lets you securely start and connect to your phone’s Wi-Fi network without touching your phone,” Microsoft explains. Tip of the day: If you need to Create, Delete or Resize Partitions, Windows has everything you thanks to the built-in Disk Management-tool.
