Essentially, Microsoft is making Edge an attractive option for people who sync between iOS and their PC. Obviously, that would include business users who may need their browser history to cross the both platforms. Windows Timeline presents a view of the photos within the app that allows users to easily scroll through images. The new feature will allow users to see photos in reverse chronological order. It is worth noting that this release bumps Edge on iOS to version 41.14. Also of importance is the Windows requirements. You will need your PC to be running Redstone 4 (Spring Update) for this shared browser history to work. That’s because Timeline debuted with the latest feature upgrade for Windows 10. Of course, Microsoft has yet to officially launch what we think will be called the Spring Update. It was expected to launch on April 11, but the company was forced to postpone the release due to a last minute bug. So, the only people currently running Redstone 4 are Windows Insiders. Nevertheless, this Edge on iOS feature is now waiting for the wider Redstone 4 release. As it is primarily targeted to business users, many may not see this Edge ability for a while. That’s because we would always advise organizations to hold off on installing new Windows builds immediately after release. When Redstone 4 does drop, business users should hold off their update at least for several months. On that note, Microsoft has recently changed its deferral options for the platform.
Timeline Integration
To sync with Windows Timeline on Microsoft Edge on iOS, you should head to Settings > Privacy and then toggle “Share your browsing history”. Also included in this new update is a new edit button that can be found by swiping left on a bookmark. This button lets users move and rename favorite sites.
