The company has been largely quite regarding that information. We know that Xbox One X will launch on November 7. With that in mind, we expect pre-orders to start around 6-8 weeks away from that launch. However, that would mean pre-orders open the start of September. But, Microsoft is teasing that they may open before that. It started with a tweet from GameStop. The outlet said it had an announcement regarding Xbox One X for Sunday. Many presumed this meant the site would announce pre-order date information. Xbox chief Phil Spencer then tweeted that the company would have information today. Spencer did not expand on that, leaving us all playing the waiting game for an announcement today.
— Phil Spencer (@XboxP3) August 16, 2017 We guess the company will either announce pre-order start this week, or will simply announce the official date, maybe starting in September. At the end of last month, the console passed its final approvals in the United States. Xbox One X now has the regulatory permission to be sold in the country. This is usually an important last step towards a device going on sale. We speculated at the time that a pre-order date would follow in August. Either way, we expect to have concrete information today.
Xbox One X Pre-orders
We recently published a report about the sales potential of Xbox One X against the Sony PlayStation Pro. Microsoft knows its new console is playing to a smaller niche than the PS4 Pro. Still the company will expect pre-order figures to be high as gamers flock towards the best-performing console on the market.
